Chapter 14<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

After Las Vegas, Myriam went back home to join Klaus and back to her brothel, and Bella and Kol spent some time in Australia before Klaus once again, asked for their return to New Orleans. Not for Bella\u2019s special gift, but more because of some prophecy that had the family in its grasp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cProphecies suck,\u201d Kol explained to Bella as they were flying back. \u201cYou never know whether they\u2019re real or not.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou know, I could just ask\u2026\u201d she said as she pointed to the sky, before waving her hands in general. \u201cSurely someone out there would know.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAh, Nik has made it abundantly clear that for now, he wants to tackle things his way, likely to show the world that he still has balls and such and doesn\u2019t need to rely on his powerful witch sister or his brother\u2019s demi-goddess. No, he wants us in home so he knows we\u2019re safe,\u201d Kol shrugged. \u201cBut if it\u2019s truly a family wide prophecy as he says it is, isn\u2019t it better to stay away?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m sure he has his reasons,\u201d Bella said as she sniffed her sandwich. \u201cI don\u2019t think this smells right\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He took a bite of her sandwich and shrugged. \u201cTastes fine to me, darling, are you getting sick?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019s possible for me to get sick, though,\u201d she said, scratching her head as she watched Kol devour her sandwich. \u201cNo more tuna for me\u2026 at least for now. Damnit, I like tuna.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kol snorted. \u201cYou had a similar thing with carrots yesterday.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey were fine once I sprinkled some sugar over it, no big deal, I cook them in sugar all the time,\u201d Bella pouted before she reached for Kol\u2019s bacon and tomato sandwich and took a bite out of that. \u201cWhat? It\u2019s only fair, you\u2019re eating my sandwich, I\u2019m eating yours. Go feed on the stewardess if you\u2019re still hungry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOh, I know you\u2019re not happy about returning just yet, darling,\u201d Kol ran a hand through her hair as she munched on his sandwich. \u201cBut usually when Nik makes such a request it\u2019s for a good reason.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd if it\u2019s not for a good reason?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThen you can turn him into a puppy, leash him and have Rebekah place him with a nice family with small children.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bella thought about that and liked the imagery of it. By placing him out of the family would lessen the temptation to simply turn him back. \u201cYes.\u201d And if Myriam didn\u2019t like it, Bella would turn her into an animal as well, perhaps a bunny so she could keep it in their home. Yes. Finishing her sandwich, she felt satisfied by their means of getting revenge for interrupting their exploration of Australia and laid down on the couch, stretching herself before putting her head in Kol\u2019s lap and sighing deeply. \u201cReality sucks.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first thing they did when arriving back in New Orleans was to sleep. Niklaus wanted them to come straight to the compound, but Bella was still in a mood and the time difference was a bitch this time around. Despite her initial objections, Bella seemed to be comfortable in their own bed and fell asleep like a brick the moment her head hit the pillow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next morning, Kol woke up because Bella was cursing up a storm as she hopped around the bedroom with her jeans in her hands, trying to pull them up and close them. \u201cCome back to bed, you beautiful potty mouth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo!\u201d Bella said angrily as she gave up on the jeans and tried to find a bigger pair. \u201cI can\u2019t fit in my jeans anymore! This isn\u2019t supposed to happen! I have to lose weight!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDarling, you look deliciously fine, we\u2019ll simply buy you a bigger size that does fit.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She angrily threw her jeans into his face. \u201cYou shouldn\u2019t have allowed me to eat so much, I still pretty much have the human physiology and I can gain weight, apparently!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBella, you look fine.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bella huffed as she plucked a summer dress out of her closet and got into that. \u201cFine. We\u2019ll have to buy bigger jeans, bigger bra\u2019s and some shirts, because some are too tight now. And I want to join a gym. We\u2019re going to eat healthier and—-\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBella, you look fine, there\u2019s nothing wrong with you. You look healthy and well taken care of.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo I\u2019m fat,\u201d she stated, putting her hands in her sides as she looked at him. \u201cYou\u2019re such an asshole.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBella, it\u2019s alright,\u201d he finally got out of bed to wrap his arms around her. \u201cWe spent a lot of time in warmer climates, to retain a little bit of water is fine.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cStill not helping,\u201d she muttered as she pushed him away from her. \u201cGet dressed, we need to hear your brother out.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWelcome back!\u201d Klaus greeted them as they stepped onto the courtyard. \u201cAren\u2019t you two tired of traveling yet?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOf course not,\u201d Kol smiled at his brother. \u201cBut I do hope that you have a valid reason for calling us back, we were having so much fun exploring the reefs and hugging Koalas!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOh, the Koalas,\u201d Bella smiled. \u201cI liked the Koalas.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou would like to know, that in your absence, Elijah and my therapist have become lovers. She assures me it\u2019s not a conflict of interest, but I\u2019m still not too happy about it,\u201d Klaus announced as he looked over to Cami and Elijah, who were sitting on a sofa both reading a book. \u201cThey\u2019re quite the boring pair.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHi!\u201d Cami greeted them with a smile. \u201cYou guys look great!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHey Cami, how are you?\u201d Kol smiled at her. \u201cYou must have really lost your marbles if you fancy my brother.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNah,\u201d she smiled as she playfully punched Elijah\u2019s arm, who, in turn, looked slightly offended. \u201cHe\u2019s actually quite a hoot!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bella nearly jumped out of her skin when all of a sudden she felt Myriam\u2019s arms around her, hugging her tightly. \u201cHey Myr.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo glad you\u2019re back! Look at you, wearing a dress and all! What happened to your jeans?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOh, don\u2019t start, please,\u201d Kol sighed as he looked at her. \u201cShe\u2019s feeling a little bloated, couldn\u2019t get into her jeans and now she thinks she\u2019s fat.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Myriam huffed. \u201cDon\u2019t be ridiculous, you\u2019re looking great! Healthy!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cStop saying that!\u201d Bella grumpily said before she walked off to the kitchen to find some fruit to snack on. \u201cBe glad that I\u2019m wearing clothes so you\u2019re not subjected to my fattiness!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWow,\u201d Myriam said as she looked at Kol. \u201cWhat did you do to make her all grumpy and shit?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNothing, I swear!\u201d He defended himself. \u201cShe\u2019s been having these silly moods for a while now and although they\u2019re annoying, I kinda like it that her brain also gets very twisted.\u201d He sucked in a breath. \u201cAnd she\u2019s testing my patience, but that\u2019s probably because she\u2019s due to having her period or something.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOh sure, blame mood swings on the one thing we can\u2019t control,\u201d Cami rolled her eyes at Kol. \u201cThat girl deserves a nice hot bath and a lot of chocolate.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSee, I knew there was another reason why I like to be a vampire,\u201d Myriam smirked as she sat down on the couch between Cami and Elijah, putting her arm around the woman. \u201cNo more female issues.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo, but you do get slightly insane once a month, so there\u2019s no difference there,\u201d Klaus remarked as he watched Bella walk back in. \u201cFreya! Come down so we can fill in my brother and his girlfriend!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bella sat down next to Kol and looked at him as she angrily peeled her banana and then took a bite out of it. She kept her eyes on him as she slowly chewed, swallowed and taking another bite. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIs that all you\u2019re going to eat?\u201d He was looking to see if she had more fruit on her or a sandwich, but it seemed that it was only the banana. \u201cDarling, you have to eat something.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am, and this is all I\u2019m going to eat until lunch, yes, because you buying me all the food has gotten you in this mess in the first place,\u201d she retorted as she took another bite of her banana. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNik, where\u2019s our sister?\u201d Kol asked his brother, missing Rebekah at this meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShe\u2019s off gallivanting about with her new boyfriend, no doubt. She still has to introduce us to him, but I believe she will do so in due time. She\u2019s only getting a pass out of this meeting because she knows what\u2019s going on,\u201d Klaus replied as he poured himself a drink and saw Freya\u2019s frame move out of the door and onto the courtyard. \u201cNow, the only reason I wanted the two of you home is to make sure you are safe. I do not wish for you, Bella, to use your gifts on anything that\u2019s going on – we can handle it. I merely wanted you to be safe, and as only Kol can enter your apartment still, your apartment is the safest place for you to be.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think I can take care of myself, Klaus,\u201d Bella said with a snort as she tossed her banana peel into a bin. \u201cIn fact, we both can.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOf course, but please humor me and don\u2019t go anywhere until this is all over?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat is this<\/em>?\u201d Kol demanded, glad that Bella started to perk up a little again. Grumpy Bella could be so unwilling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Klaus shared a smile with Elijah, who rolled his eyes. \u201cDo you remember our time in France after we escaped Mikael for the first time?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cVaguely,\u201d Kol replied, a scowl on his face. It had been the first sign of the holy trinity that were his brothers and Rebekah, with Kol and Finn being on the outside. Finn for being a bloody mother\u2019s child and Kol for being erratic and thirsty all the time. \u201cWe spent some time at Court de Martel and we had to leave because of my habits attracting Mikael\u2019s attention. That wouldn\u2019t have happened if you\u2019d just allowed me to go off on my own and split up as I suggested in the first place.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI see we remember this event quite differently,\u201d Elijah finally said, not looking up from his book, still distancing himself from the conversation. \u201cBut you are correct. It\u2019s also the place where Niklaus, Rebekah and I sired our first vampires.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kol was annoyed now. \u201cIf you\u2019re going to tell me that the moronic Martel’s and Lucien are still alive after all this time\u2026 then consider me surprised. I never expected them to live this long!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey are in town, yes,\u201d Klaus replied. \u201cFor now, everything is quite civil, although Myriam would nothing more than to rip out Aurora\u2019s throat.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat\u2019s it? You wanted us here because you\u2019re afraid of them?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s more complicated than that. There\u2019s a whole history there, that I shall not bore you with, however, they came with a prophecy that could very well mean the end of our family,\u201d Klaus sneered. \u201cAnd you know how I don\u2019t believe in prophecies!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s very brutal,\u201d Freya spoke quietly. \u201cI\u2019ve confirmed the prophecy and the visions that Lucien\u2019s witch showed Klaus and Elijah. The family will fall when the prophecy comes to fulfillment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhich is what, exactly?\u201d Kol asked. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Freya had a serious look on her face, recalling the images she had seen in her brother\u2019s mind. \u201cHow a year from now, the family is lost and with our losses, we\u2019re seeding the beast that is to come.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd you believe in this? Niklaus, the only thing that can kill us is gone. Burned. There\u2019s no White Oak anymore,\u201d Kol chuckled. \u201cI know you\u2019re paranoid, but this is taking things too far.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut what if there\u2019s another way to kill us? We\u2019ve made powerful enemies, we have powerful friends and in this day and age, I believe that even a brilliant scientist could kill us with a virus if he\u2019s determined enough,\u201d Klaus replied, taking a swig from his drink. \u201cI believed that prophecies were simply stories made up to scare children, but this one is about us. We are stronger together, brother, this is why I needed you back.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWell,\u201d Kol smirked as he relaxed in his chair. \u201cWhy won\u2019t you cozy up to Aurora and find out more about this so called prophecy?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOver my dead body!\u201d Myriam growled. \u201cHe\u2019s not going anywhere near that lunatic!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou shouldn\u2019t worry, Klaus,\u201d Bella spoke softly as she looked at him. \u201cNothing\u2019s going to happen to you, not as long as I\u2019m around.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat\u2019s very kind of you, Bella, but as long as we don\u2019t know if this is true or not, I don\u2019t want you to do anything,\u201d Klaus replied kindly. \u201cI merely wish for your safety as well as Kol\u2019s.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPerhaps this is the moment to mention that there\u2019s an ulterior motive for your return as well,\u201d Elijah said as he looked at Freya. \u201cFreya believes that you, Bella, could very well mean the end of our existence should you be taken from us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWell that\u2019s stupid,\u201d Bella muttered. \u201cAfter all I\u2019ve done for you?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou are a demi-Goddess, are you not?\u201d Freya raised an eyebrow. \u201cOh, I know,\u201d she said when she saw the surprised look on Bella\u2019s face. \u201cAnd it only took me the effort to reach out to a couple of Quarter witches to hear that. You have the power to destroy the world if you wish for it. I don\u2019t understand the faith and belief my siblings have in you for not destroying them for the monsters that they are.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSure they are monsters, but they\u2019re in control and if you think that they aren\u2019t, then who the fuck are you?\u201d Bella said angrily as she got to her feet. \u201cYou\u2019re the latest addition to this family and they accepted you as one of their own, because by blood, you are. They trust you, and therefore I must trust you because that\u2019s what they want, but to call me a danger to this family? How dare you?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBella, that\u2019s not what she meant,\u201d Klaus calmly said, looking up at her from his seat. \u201cWe don\u2019t see you as a threat, at all, but Freya\u2019s right. There is a chance that our enemies could take you and subdue you. They could force you to harm us. All Myriam and I want is for you to be safe, with us, under our protection, do you understand?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m not going to listen to this,\u201d Bella said as she turned to walk out of the courtyard. \u201cYou\u2019re being narrow minded and stupid and assholes,\u201d her voice started to break as she felt hurt, and overcome with pain. \u201cHow dare you!\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kol got up to run after her, but he was stopped by Elijah, who had finally put down his book. \u201cKol.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGet out of my way, Elijah,\u201d he said venomous. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou have to listen to reason.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cReason?!\u201d Kol huffed, turning around to face the rest of his family. \u201cReason? You don\u2019t know what reason is, you never have. To agree with our eldest sister about Bella, you call that reason? After all that Bella has done for this family, after all that she\u2019s been through, you dare to fear her? Never in a million years would that lovely, sweet girl hurt someone. She doesn\u2019t like spilling blood and she won\u2019t. Ever,\u201d he said angrily. \u201cNik, I understand that you\u2019re afraid of this prophecy, perhaps too afraid to see reason<\/em> but you just upset a very powerful being who now might choose not to help you out next time you\u2019re in trouble. She\u2019s your friend, for God\u2019s sake!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been telling him this,\u201d Myriam pointed out. \u201cBut his paranoia is a bitch and not even Camille can talk him out of it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYeah well, try harder. Bella and I are leaving New Orleans in the morning, she doesn\u2019t deserve this,\u201d Kol spat before he grabbed Elijah, tossed him across the courtyard and headed to Bella. He found her crying on the sofa, hugging a pillow. He sat down next to her and pulled her into his arms. \u201cHey, it\u2019s okay,\u201d he softly said as he gently ran his hand over her hair. \u201cDon\u2019t worry about them lot.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m not good enough,\u201d she sobbed. \u201cWhat do I need to do to be good enough?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He hadn\u2019t really dealt with a crying Bella before; she wasn\u2019t the crying type, she bottled it up until she\u2019d explode in a fit of anger – which she did very well, and he secretly loved it when she was angry, or she dealt with things rationally. And now, he wasn\u2019t quite sure what to do with her. It appeared that her family had truly managed to hurt her this time, despite Niklaus and Myriam being her friends – or, there was a possibility that there was something wrong with her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And he didn\u2019t like to think about that. Because if something was wrong with her, Hades wouldn\u2019t be too far away to take her away from him and it was not going to happen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBella,\u201d he softly said after a while, still with a sobbing Bella in his arms. \u201cYou need to calm down and check yourself because you\u2019re acting very much unlike yourself and I fear what will happen if this continues.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bella looked up to him with her tearstained eyes, shortly stopping her from sobbing, but as she thought about his words, she started to cry again. \u201cNo, I don\u2019t want to go, I want to stay!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kol sighed deeply as he shook his head. He needed help. His quick thinking wasn\u2019t failing him and he smiled at her. \u201cDarling, Myriam hasn\u2019t seen your beautiful apartment yet, wouldn\u2019t you like her to come over and see?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYes, Myriam can come in,\u201d she sobbed as she held on to him. \u201cBut your family will never ever set foot in this apartment, you hear?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI hear you,\u201d he said softly as he quickly texted Myriam to come over and thankfully, she did. He scooped Bella off the couch and planted her in Myriam\u2019s arms. \u201cYour problem.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou\u2019re far better equipped to handle a crying girl than I am.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShe\u2019s your girlfriend!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShe\u2019s your friend!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd what are you going to do?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPummel reason into Niklaus,\u201d Kol said angrily before he leapt out of the window and rushed to the Compound, leaving Myriam alone with Bella. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sighing, Myriam set Bella down on the floor and made her look at her. \u201cSnap out of it, you\u2019re being ridiculous.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou hate me too?\u201d Bella asked with a small voice. \u201cYou think that everyone is right and that I pose a danger to you?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo,\u201d Myriam sighed as she pushed Bella\u2019s hair out of her face. \u201cI think they\u2019re all a bunch of dicks who are too paranoid to think clearly, that\u2019s all. They still love you, Bella, but it\u2019s in Klaus\u2019 nature to be fearful of anything or anyone more powerful than him. Freya\u2026 well\u2026 she\u2019s a prototype Mikaelson who had a difficult century\u2026 of course she\u2019s frightened with a demi-Goddess in our midst, but she doesn\u2019t know you the way that we do. She\u2019ll come around.\u201d Myriam bit her wrist and offered her blood to Bella. \u201cWhatever ails you, should be gone after you have some of this, I promise.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bella scrunched up her nose. \u201cI\u2019m not sick.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou may be and not realize it, drink up,\u201d Myriam said before pushing her hand against Bella\u2019s mouth. Much to her surprise, Bella struggled against her after one sip and she was forced to let her go as Bella ran off to the toilet. Soon after, she could hear her vomit. \u201cOkay, so maybe you\u2019re under some sort of spell!\u201d Myriam called after her, staying well clear of the bathroom. \u201cWe\u2019ll have Freya to check you over!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo!\u201d Bella almost screamed at Myriam. \u201cThat bitch isn\u2019t going anywhere near me!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bella refused to leave the house for a couple of days, mainly because she didn\u2019t want to go to the compound and face the family again. Even though Kol insisted that they hadn\u2019t meant it the way that she understood it, she didn\u2019t want to go because Myriam wanted her to be checked out by Freya to see if she was under the influence of some magic spell making her act out of character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bella wasn\u2019t spelled. She figured that she would be natural cleansing of spells seeing as she could cleanse them of others, and had been immune to Dahlia, so she knew she wasn\u2019t spelled. But something was wrong, alright. She was throwing up a bit more often and everything hurt, she was sick and blamed Australia for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was, of course, another option. One that she didn\u2019t want to think about but had to consider. Gods were fickle and this one God was mischievous. \u201cHey, Kol?\u201d She carefully got his attention; he wasn\u2019t in one of the best moods lately, likely because of her, and she felt guilty about it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYes?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCould you go to the pharmacy for me and pick something up?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kol looked up, meeting her hopeful gaze. \u201cAre you in pain?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo,\u201d she snorted. \u201cUncomfortable, but\u2026\u201d Bella sighed as she got up and made her way over to him. \u201cThings aren\u2019t adding up. Well, they are, and I want to rule this possibility out because there\u2019s no way that we\u2019ve asked for this.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat are you talking about, darling?\u201d He asked as he put down his blood bag and pulled her into his arms. \u201cFreya could—\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDon\u2019t!\u201d She put her hand over his mouth and glared at him. \u201cWe\u2019re going to figure this out, the non-magical way. I\u2019ll go to a human doctor if the pregnancy test is negative and it better be or else I\u2019m going to kick some God\u2019s ass.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGo get it yourself. I\u2019m not going to buy you a pregnancy test. No way.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDeal!\u201d Kol said as he almost ran out of the apartment. Part of him wanted to go outside of New Orleans, where nobody knew him, another part of him wanted to be home again, fast, mainly so that he could have his way with Bella; it had been some time since they had some fun, ever since she figured she didn\u2019t look pretty anymore. But she didn\u2019t look pretty, no, she was absolutely beautiful and he hated it that she had such a low self esteem again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He had been beating himself up about it, replaying their trip in his mind to see where things might have gone wrong, and he couldn\u2019t find a specific point in time, because she was always beautiful to him, no matter how she looked. Kol decided to take his chances with the one closest to them; nobody expected a Mikaelson inside a pharmacy as Niklaus would usually compel someone to get things for him, but a pharmacy? They were never sick! Kol could pick up Bella\u2019s pads while doing groceries, which was normal, but this? No. Absolutely not. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh, Kol could compel himself a willing victim to pick up what he wanted, but like Bella, he wasn\u2019t using much of his own abilities other than to survive, and buying pregnancy tests wasn\u2019t for survival. It was to give his girlfriend a piece of mind. He needed to do this himself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What if Bella were pregnant? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\u2019d definitely punch a God after she\u2019d call one down to answer to his accusations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sure, part of this reward<\/em> would be that Bella would give birth to a tiny human, no hybrid, no god powers, an ordinary— nope, not even that. The baby would be a Mikaelson. A witch. A first born Mikaelson, powerful, like Freya. Oh bloody hell. It would be a nightmare to take care of a magical child. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bella wasn\u2019t ready to have a baby; she didn\u2019t mind children, as long as they stayed well clear of her, but wouldn\u2019t snap at them when they did approach. She simply didn\u2019t like them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for him? He was an overprotective vampire with rage issues. Yeah, that was going to work well – enraging over a dirty diaper or something. Oh, he so hoped she wasn\u2019t pregnant. With everything going on, he sure hoped she wasn\u2019t pregnant; it would only make matters worse for the family. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNik, I know you\u2019re spying on me,\u201d he muttered after sensing his brother from somewhere behind him. \u201cYou\u2019d better not be taking pictures and sending them to your girlfriend.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI see you\u2019re in the mood for something else,\u201d Klaus noted the condoms below the pregnancy tests. \u201cIs this a new kink of you two? Sex with a rubber around your cock?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which one did he have to choose? \u201cHelp me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThen call Myriam.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cami audibly sighed. \u201cYou\u2019re wasting your money.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kol snatched the phone out of Klaus\u2019 hand. \u201cIt\u2019s my money to waste. Help me or so help me God, I will break your neck!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKol,\u201d Klaus said calmly, placing a hand on his brother\u2019s shoulder with enough force to snap him out of his anger before nodding to the Walmart employee standing next to them, looking frightened. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUm, can I help you find something?\u201d the associate asked, her voice shaking from the presence of the angry male before her. Her name tag said her name was Kalypso. How pretentious. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDon\u2019t mind my brother, love,\u201d Klaus said calmly. \u201cHe\u2019s merely freaking out; his girlfriend sent him out to buy a pregnancy test and well\u2026 our mother didn\u2019t raise us that well and we have no idea what to get. Of course, our friend on the phone isn\u2019t helping at all, either,\u201d he replied as he pried his phone out of Kol\u2019s hand and disconnected the call. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She nodded, eying the upset man before focusing on the wall he\u2019d been staring at. \u201cWe have a selection to choose from. If she\u2019s far enough along, it wouldn\u2019t matter which one you choose. Popular brands are First Response and Clear Blue. This one may give a positive reading earlier than the others,\u201d she explained, handing him the pink box. \u201cAnd it has a coupon for $3 off.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She stared at the money he practically shoved in her hand. \u201cUm, we aren\u2019t allowed to accept tips or anything\u2026 but it\u2019s okay. Kol then punched the wall, leaving a hole in it without blinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think you might need that 100 dollars now,\u201d Klaus said amused as he handed her another bill. \u201cThat one\u2019s for your manager.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The girl nodded, glancing wide eyed at the angry man before scurrying off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWell,\u201d Klaus said lighthearted. \u201cI suppose our sister\u2019s nursing skills paid off.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShut up,\u201d Kol mumbled as he headed to the register, nearly threw the items on the counter and impatiently waited for the total.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The employee, with the name tag Breanne, looked at the guy nearly smashing her counter in half. \u201cHoney, I do hope those are for your sister, because you two won\u2019t need a pregnancy test, you do know that, right?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kol growled lowly as he handed her a 50 dollar bill, stuffed the items in his pockets and headed out, Klaus following right behind him. \u201cI\u2019m itching to kill something.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cVery well,\u201d Klaus replied casually. \u201cYou need to blow off some steam before you return to your impossible girlfriend. Let\u2019s go and play with some wolves, shall we?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bella paced around as she watched all six sticks. Oh, she wanted to be sure and had used them all. If there was one thing that had lingered from sex ed classes was that these pee sticks could be unreliable and at least this way they had a good chance of getting the right answer. And she hoped it was \u2018no\u2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The only reason why she had told Kol about Hades\u2019 so called reward was that she didn\u2019t want to have secrets from him. She had also told him that she wasn\u2019t going to collect that reward for a very long time because she liked spending time with Kol and didn\u2019t want to share their time with a child. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bella was well aware that all Mikaelsons would have loved to have offspring, that their vampirism was the one thing that kept them from having families of their own and that they had made peace with it. She knew that Kol would be a great father, though. He was playful and fair, caring and loving and so knowledgable. Their child would be a witch and what better way was there for it being raised by someone who knew so much about magic?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kol would be an awesome dad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She wouldn\u2019t be an awesome mother. Bella never knew what to make of kids; they were messy and sticky and drooling all over the place. Germs. Loud and not to mention, destructive. Kids weren\u2019t her thing, but she had entertained the idea to accept Hades\u2019 reward in a couple of years, when she and Kol were together for longer, to make sure that she wouldn\u2019t end up alone with a kid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh, that would be the worst thing. Him leaving her. The family turning their backs on her and the child for not being good enough. Pretty much like they were doing now, they were afraid of her and wanted her close so they could keep an eye on her. It angered her so much; she rarely acted upon her anger, she wouldn\u2019t even hurt a small creature, so why were they so afraid? It wasn\u2019t as if it would be easy to contain her, she had so much power coursing through her veins and it still scared her shitless. One wrong move, one twitch, one wrong thought, and all would be lost. Gone. Poof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What if she\u2019d poof a child out of existence without any means of returning it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No, Bella wasn\u2019t pregnant, couldn\u2019t be pregnant. Not for a very long time and if she were, she was going to kill Hades. Or at least made a valiant effort; this wasn\u2019t part of the deal they made. Not at all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBella! Come on! Let me in already!\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kol\u2019s voice shook her out of her thoughts and realized that she should have allowed him access after her peeing on the sticks so they could fret together. She unlocked the door and opened it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWell? Anything yet?\u201d he questioned as soon as his eyes laid on her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo,\u201d she sighed as she put her arms around him. \u201cWhat do we do if I am, though?\u201d Bella asked with a small voice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe face it like we do everything else we do. Plus, it won\u2019t be like it won\u2019t have any family. Everyone will want to have a hand in this, I\u2019m sure. Have you even looked?\u201d Kol murmured as he looked over her head to the pieces that she spread over their bed. \u201cBut before all that, we hunt down your uncle and find a way to kill him or imprison him like Nik enjoys doing with my siblings and I.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOh, don\u2019t worry, if the things show that we\u2019re having a baby, I\u2019m going to call for his ass to come down here and then you can punch him.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cStart yelling,\u201d he said as he turned her around and showed her that all six sticks had two pink lines on them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHADES!\u201d Bella yelled. \u201cGet your stupid ass down here you mother fucker!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cExcuse you,\u201d Hades\u2019 voice sounded before appearing. \u201cBut I have never fucked my own mother! I do not even believe Zeus has done so either, considering his philandering ways.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou fucker!\u201d Bella let go of Kol and went straight for Hades and pounded on his chest. \u201cYou absolute fucker! This was not what we agreed upon!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCalm down, Bella, getting angry isn\u2019t good for the precious cargo you\u2019re carrying,\u201d Hades smirked and gently pat her head as she continued to hit him. \u201cStop it, you\u2019re embarrassing yourself,\u201d he said before sighing and flinging her onto the bed, landing her safely on the mattress. When he turned around, Kol planted his fist in his face. \u201cOh, well that hurt,\u201d Hades said, rubbing his jaw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI feel much better now,\u201d Kol said nodding before helping Bella up. \u201cThanks, darling, I needed that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bella huffed as she narrowed her eyes on the God of the Underworld. \u201cExplain yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhy?\u201d Hades shrugged. \u201cAs you know, you Earthlings have been our playthings for millennia, why stop now?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDude, we\u2019re family.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDude, you\u2019re fun to play with!\u201d Hades grinned and casually waved the sticks away into the trashcan. \u201cLook, I know you wanted to tell me when you guys were well and ready for this responsibility, but you wanted to live your life as human as possible, did you not?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd it\u2019s shown in your actions as well, you haven\u2019t used any of your abilities other than to rid New Orleans of the evil witch and before that, only to protect yourself against the witches here and help your family. I might not be around all the time, but I do see what you do, Bella,\u201d Hades reminded her. \u201cI\u2019m always keeping an eye on you because I\u2019m so proud of how you\u2019re handling things.
